Past History

It was a beautiful day at the Stony Point Battlefield. It was the first weekend of the year they were open and they had all their recreations and reproductions out for us. From black smith I even enjoyed a fresh egg omelet that was prepared over a camp fire.

If you were there and got some good photographs they would appreciate it if you would post them on their facebook page. I told them that we would do that.

Photography Display
Wallkill Town Hall

Thursday, May 1st 3pm - 5pm

We will be hanging our photography at the Wallkill Town Hall. There is room for about 35 prints. If you are interested in displaying your work at the Wallkill Town Hall, please contact Jeff Montanye (jmontanye@earthlink.net). Please email Jeff some sample images that you will be hanging so a flyer can be prepared.

A reception date is planned for May 30th, 12pm. We will be removing our work after the reception. Please invite your friends and family. Bring a snack or beverage to share.

Prints should be matted, framed and wired for hanging. We will have a spool of wire and cutters there for those who need it.

We will be hanging the prints in the four main hallways in building "A", the first building on the property.

For more information and to sign up visit: Town of Wallkill Photography Display.

Photographing Stained Glass Windows
Saturday, May 3rd, 10am
We have been asked to photograph the stained glass windows at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Montgomery. The church would like to have photographs taken of the historic stained glass windows, both to document them and to use in making greeting cards. They are at various heights, most starting at about chest high but some start at 10 feet from the floor. We will be going as a small group to photograph the windows and donate our photographs to the church in electronic form. You can sign up on meetup.com here: Stained Glass Windows.

Library Meeting
Camera Modes and Scenes

Wednesday, May 21st, 6pm - 7:30pm.
What happens when you use the modes and scenes pre-programmed in the camera? Jeff Montanye explains the camera modes and how they effect your photos. Do you want to use them? We also invited Frank Dispensa back. If all goes well he will giving a talk as well. You can sign up on meetup.com here: Camera Modes and Scenes. We meet at the Newburgh Library on Grand Street.

May Meet-Up
Boscobel House and Gardens

Saturday, May 24th, 8am
We will be visiting one of Hudson Valley's historic homes, the Boscobel House and Gardens. Boscobel House and Gardens is situated in scenic Garrison, New York, in the heart of the Hudson River Valley area. You can sign up on meetup.com here: Boscobel House and Gardens.

Club Calendar - Photos Wanted

We will be putting together a 2015 calendar of photos taken by our group members. If you would like to have your photos printed in the calendar please email a high resolution copy to jmontanye@digitalworldofphotography.com with your name, camera used, where and when taken and the calendar month you would like the photo to be printed on.

All photos must be taken in the Hudson Valley. Current photos are prefered. Club members will judge what photos will appear in the calendar. Twelve photos will be selected to be the main photos for each month. Other photos may be selected to fill in empty spots on the calendar. Manny Piquero will be in charge of creating the calendar.

The calendars will be for sale in November. The money we raise will go towards insurance and meetup.com fees. Prizes or awards may be offered depending on how many calendars we sell.
