This park has areas for both passive and active recreation, in a historic setting that features powder mill buildings from the Civil War era. This park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There is also a lake and stream with a small dam and bridge. This is a nice place for a stroll if you avoid the weekend madness. It is a popular place for the locals but few people actually venture past the baseball fields, plastic play toys and picnic tables onto the trails. There must have been a hundred people there when I visited but I only saw two or three people on the trails. The old foundations and other ruins are very interesting but some are spray painted with graffiti. It's worth the trip to check it out.
