January Meet-Up
Urban Twilight
- Confirmed

Location: Motor vehicle municiple parking lot, 223 Main St
Date: January 18, 2014
Day: Saturday
Time: 4:30pm

Beacon has some really nice old buildings and street lamps with trees and benches along Historic Main Street. It looks like a good place to do the Urban Twilight photography meet-up. I called the chamber of commerce and they said that other photography clubs have done the same thing.

There is a small park that usually has some form of art on display. Google map

For Christmas the art is a Christmas Tree made from bicycles. It probably won't be there the third week of January though. The Chamber of Commerce person that I spoke to told me that the town has a promotion day the second Saturday of each month and suggested that we go at that time because there might be some interesting things happening. However, I'd like to do this after our library meeting where we will be discussing long exposure techniques.

We can park in the municipal parking lot for the Motor Vehicle office and walk from there. Also, down the road a little ways is a waterfall. Google map

We can drive down and park in the parking lot there. There are some interesting businesses on Main Street if they will be open after 5pm.

Another interesting place to visit is Long Dock Park. Google map

Day: Saturday
Time: 10:00am

We will be visiting LIberty Farm's Sunflower Maze in Autusta, NJ. I've had a lot of requests to visit the sunflower fields over the past couple years and we are finally doing it. It's out of our target area but can still be considered the "Hudson Valley". I've never been here before and I don't know what to expect or if it is the best site for sunflowers but we're going. We'll find out together. I was told to bring a step ladder to get a good angle so I'll tie mine on the roof of my Blazer.
