Past History

We had a great time at the Sterling Hill Mining Museum. Thank you all for coming out. It was a good experience.

I visited the Rio Reservoir in March when we still had ice and snow and found this old leaky water tower. What an amazing photo opportunity. I want to come back next year.

Classes

The beginner's photography class starting on April 22nd is full. We opened a second class on Wednesdays starting on May 7 for those who were not able to get into the April class.

The intermediate class will be starting on May 8th and is already almost full. We added a second class which starts on June 2nd.

Photography classes are held in Goshen at BOCES from 6pm to 9pm. For more information visit Assistacomp

Library Meeting
Vacationing With Your Camera

Wednesday, April 16th, 6pm - 7:30pm.
Jeff Montanye presents “Vacationing with you camera”, a digital photography presentation that will bring your vacation photos to life! When you want to capture an ordinary, uninteresting snap-shot all you need to do is place your camera into auto mode and press the shutter release. But understanding a few basic photography principles and techniques as well as learning some basic camera settings, your photos will improve tremendously. In an hour and a half Jeff will walk you through a photography tutorial full of easy to use and easy to remember techniques that will get you excited about photographing your vacations this year. You can sign up on meetup.com here: Vacationing With Your Camera.

April Meet-Up
Stony Point Battlefield

Saturday, April 19th, 10am
Stony Point is a small point that juts out into the Hudson River in Rockland County. It is one of the last Revolutionary War battles. There is a museum, soldier's camp, Blacksmiths Forge and light house on the point. The grounds open at 10am. There are fees for tours but they are small. You can sign up on meetup.com here: Stony Point Battlefield.

Photography Display
Wallkill Town Hall

Soon we will be hanging our photography at the Wallkill Town Hall. There is room for about 35 prints. If you are interested in displaying your work at the Wallkill Town Hall, please contact Jeff Montanye (jmontanye@earthlink.net). Please email Jeff some sample images that you will be hanging so a flyer can be prepared.

A reception date will be planned shortly. It will most likely be Friday, May 2nd 12:00-3:00pm. I know this is not the best time but it has to be during business hours since the building is closed the rest of the time. Please invite your friends and family. Bring a snack or beverage to share.

Prints should be matted, framed and wired for hanging. We will have a spool of wire and cutters there for those who need it.

We will be hanging the prints in the four main hallways. I'm not sure if it is the first or second building. I'll find out soon.

For more information and to sign up visit: Town of Wallkill Photography Display.
